Expansion joint profiles are installed during concrete floor casting to compensate for the movement of adjacent slabs that are exposed to various internal and external forces. Damage most often appears along slab joints as a result of their displacement under load. The system installed between slabs is designed to compensate for their horizontal movements, which occur due to concrete settlement and changes in temperature conditions. At the same time, it blocks vertical displacement and relative twisting of adjacent floor slabs caused by traffic movement, other operational loads, and uneven passive soil pressure.
Conecto Sinus profiles compensate for the displacement of adjacent slabs according to the insert plate size:
- Dowel 180x120x8 mm ± 15 mm in parallel and ± 20 mm in longitudinal direction;
- Dowel 180x140x10 mm ± 20 mm in parallel and ± 30 mm in longitudinal direction.
Conecto Sinus profiles ensure uniform load distribution between floor slabs, preventing excessive local pressure. Conecto systems help eliminate uncontrolled cracking, extend floor service life, and improve usability.
The number of profiles must allow the floor to be divided into sections close to a square shape with an area of up to 1000 m², which corresponds to the daily concrete pouring rate. Profiles must be placed no more than 45–45 metres apart.
The Conecto Sinus system is supplied pre-assembled and ready for installation. Profiles should be placed at designated expansion joint locations and connected using strip nuts included in the set.
Conecto Sinus connections ensure proper performance and high durability of the floor under continuous heavy traffic loads.
